Madison Scottish Country Dancers have organized a "trip around the world," a festive affair with an international flair! This year's theme, Around the World In Eighteen Dances, pays homage to the 1870's adventures of Englishman Phineas Fogg, who travels by modern modes of transport--steamship, railroad, and hot air balloon on a wager that he can make it around the world in 80 days. Accordingly, our dance program will take you on an abbreviated tour of 18 sites around the world. Come join the merriment in your lederhosen, sari, dirndl, tea gown, cowboy hat, kilt, or tartan sash and gown...be creative with appropriate attire! NOTE NEW LOCATION: UNION SOUTH 1308 W. Dayton St, Madison, WI 53715 The deadline for early registration and dinner is March 4; a $10 late fee will apply after that date. Follow the links below for all the information you'll need to plan for a memorable weekend in Madison! |
The Ball features music by our own band, O'er the Border (Mike Briggs, piano; Dave Mullen, fiddle; Francis Deck, bass; Susan Conant, flutes). We are also delighted to welcome to the stage three exceptional youth performers and budding Scottish musicians: Liam Mullen, keyboard; Charlie Deck, cello; and Mary Deck, violin.
